His dwelling carried him far from his kin,
He was brought to the house, away from his kin,
So the rope was cast over his withers.
And the rope was cast over his grave.

Resistance lived on for his beloved;
She lived for her beloved, denying him,
Against it, his suitor's hope died.
While hope in attaining her died.

Beauty was harmonious in him, while
Beauty assembled in him, though minds

Differed in appraising his worth.

I have seen no well-proportioned full moon but you
I have not seen a full moon such as you,
In need of its stars.
With no need for the stars' company.

What a lovesick lover, who assailed your initial stubbornness,
Woe to rough youth who tried your hardness -
Till it softened through his gentle manner!
A soft side would have better fit his touch.

He cast you into something alluring at its outset,
You made one marvel, though he never thought
And you gave no thought to its consequences.
Through to the consequences at start.

When a man has sweetness, no wonder
That people eat of his delicacies.
That people eat of his sweets.
