لا تَصُدّي فَالصَدُّ أَمرٌ عَظيمُ

لا تَصُدّي فَالصَدُّ أَمرٌ عَظيمُ

وَاِرحَمي فَالمُحِبُّ بَرٌّ رَحيمُ

وَاِرحَمي فَالمُحِبُّ بَرٌّ رَحيمُ

Do not turn away, for rejection is a grave matter.

Do not reject me, for rejection is grave

And show mercy, for the lover is kind and merciful.

And have mercy, for a lover is kind and merciful

أَمِنَ العَدلِ أَنَّ قَلبَكِ سالٍ

أَمِنَ العَدلِ أَنَّ قَلبَكِ سالٍ

وَالهَوى ثابِتٌ بِقَلبي مُقيمُ

وَالهَوى ثابِتٌ بِقَلبي مُقيمُ

Is it just that your heart has ceased to love,

Is it just that your heart has changed

while love remains steadfast, abiding in my heart?

While passion remains fixed in my heart, resident

ثُمَّ أَلحَقتِ بي الإِساءَةَ وَالظُل

ثُمَّ أَلحَقتِ بي الإِساءَةَ وَالظُل

مَ وَغَيري هُوَ المُسيءُ الظَلومُ

مَ وَغَيري هُوَ المُسيءُ الظَلومُ

Then you imputed to me wrongdoing and injus-

Then you attributed wrongdoing and injustice to me

tice, though another is the wrongdoer, the unjust one.

While it is another who is wrongdoing and unjust

ما اِجتَرَمنا إِلَيكِ جُرماً وَلَكِن

ما اِجتَرَمنا إِلَيكِ جُرماً وَلَكِن

حُبُّ هَذا الزَمانِ لَيسَ يَدومُ

حُبُّ هَذا الزَمانِ لَيسَ يَدومُ

We committed no offense against you, but

We have committed no crime against you

the love of this age does not endure.

But the love of this time does not last
