وَمَنand one who عَدلُهُhis justice فيهاin it تَمامُcompletion بَهائِهاits splendor
O adornment of the world and uniter of its scattered people,
O adorner of the world and unifier of its people,
And you whose justice within it completes its splendor,
Whose justice completes its splendor,
وَياand O شَمسَsun أَرضيهاits lands الَّتيwhich تَمَّbecame complete نورُهاits light
فَباهَتso vied in splendor بِهِby it الأَرضونَthe lands شَمسَthe sun بَهائِهاtheir splendor
And O sun of its lands, whose light has become complete,
O sun of its lands whose light has been perfected,
So by that light the lands rivaled the sun of their splendor.
So the lands paled before the sun of His splendor.
عَطاؤُكَyour bounty لاnot يَفنىruns out وَيَستَغرِقُand encompasses المُنىthe wishes
وَيُبقيand keeps وُجوهَthe faces الراغِبينَthe seekers بِمائِهاwith their luster
Your bounty never runs out and encompasses every wish,
Your gift does not cease, and it captures mortality,
And leaves the seekers' faces with their luster intact.
And maintains the faces of those who desire its water.
تَرامَتنِيَpelted me الأَبصارُthe glances مِنfrom كُلِّevery جانِبٍside
كَأَنّيas though I مُريبٌsuspect بَينَهاamong them لِاِرتِمائِهاbecause of their darting
Glances pelted me from every side,
Eyes glance at me from every side,
As though I were suspect among them, judging by their volleys.
As if I am a dubious one among them in my stumbling.
وَليand I have عِدَةٌa promise قَدalready راثَwas delayed عَنّيfrom me نَجاحُهاits fulfillment
وَمَجدُكَand your glory أَدنىnearest رائِدٍguide فيin اِقتِضائِهاclaiming its fulfillment
And I have a promise whose fulfillment has been slow to reach me,
And I have retainers whose success has been inherited from me,
And your glory is the nearest guide to claiming its fulfillment.
While your glory is the lowest guide in fulfilling it.
شَكَوتُI complained وَماand not الشَكوىcomplaint لِنَفسِيَfor my soul عادَةٌa habit
وَلَكِنand yet تَفيضُoverflows النَفسُthe soul عِندَat اِمتِلائِهاits fullness
I complained, though complaint is no habit of my soul,
I complained but complaining is no habit for my soul,
But the soul overflows when it is full.
Rather the soul overflows when it is filled up.
وَماليand I have no شَفيعٌintercessor غَيرَother than نَفسِكَyou yourself إِنَّنيindeed I
ثَكِلتُI was bereaved مِنَfrom الدُنياthe world عَلىdespite حُسنِbeauty وائِهاits promise
And I have no intercessor but you yourself; indeed, I
And I have no intercessor other than yourself, truly I
have been bereaved by the world, despite its fair promise.
Am destitute of the world despite its beauty.
