وعالمand a knower بالغيبof the unseen منfrom غيرwithout ماemphatic particle
وعالم بالغيب من غير ما
سمعhearing ولاnor قلبheart ولاnor ناظرeye
سمع ولا قلب ولا ناظر
And a knower of the unseen, without any
hearing, heart, or eye.
يقابلit faces الشمسthe sun فيأتيand so brings بماwith what
يقابل الشمس فيأتي بما
فيin ضمنهاher interior منof خبرtidings حاضرpresent
في ضمنها من خبر حاضر
It faces the sun and brings forth what
lies within her of present tidings.
كأنماas though حاجبهits brow مذsince بداit appeared
كأنما حاجبه مذ بدا
لعينهاto her eye بالفكرthrough thought والخاطرand reflection
لعينها بالفكر والخاطر
As though its brow, since it appeared
before her eye, through thought and reflection,
قدindeed الهمتهshe inspired it علمknowledge ماwhat يحتويcontains
قد الهمته علم ما يحتوي
عليهupon it صدرbreast الفلكthe celestial sphere الدائرrevolving
عليه صدر الفلك الدائر
had been inspired by her with knowledge of what is held
within the breast of the revolving celestial sphere.
