O sleeper, untouched by the garment of my afflictions,
O sleeper, bare of the garment of my ailments,
grant slumber to an eye whose lid is bleeding.

لا خلص الله قلبي من يدي رشأ
رؤياthe vision of رجائيmy hope لهfor him أضغاثtangles of أحلامdreams
رؤيا رجائي له أضغاث أحلام
May God never free my heart from the hands of a fawn;
May God never free my heart from the hands of a young gazelle;
my hoped-for vision of him is a jumble of dreams.
The vision of my hope for him is a tangle of dreams.
