مُتَبَرِّمٌ بِعِتابِهِ

مُسْتَعْذِبٌ لِعَذابِهِ
Vexed by his reproach,
taking pleasure in his torment,

فَغَداso he went forth in the morning وراحَand went in the evening لِماbecause of what بِهِafflicted him
فَغَدا وراحَ لِما بِهِ
he deliberately forsook the lovesick man.
So he went forth morning and evening, driven by his affliction,
وكَسَاهُand clothed him ثَوْبَthe robe of مَشيبِهِhis gray hair
وكَسَاهُ ثَوْبَ مَشيبِهِ

في عِنْفُوانِ شَبابِهِ
and clothed him in the robe of gray hair
in the prime of his youth.
