Your tears poured out
Your tears have overflowed, a pouring stream,
Grieving for the death of your protector
In anguish for the fall of Walibah.
Usamah's death brought about grief
She rose to mourn the death of Abu Usamah,
In the wailing alley
The wailing woman in the narrow lane.
Grief arose, uttering
She stood to broadcast his noble virtues,
Nothing but the truth
With truth, distinct from any liar's speech.
The tribes of Asad and Nizār mourned him
The Banu Asad were bereaved of him,
Universally
And all the sons of Nizar, everyone.
With her words and her leader
He was their spokesman and their confirmed chief,
In hazardous affairs
Whenever grave and crushing matters fell.
Do not make Abu Usamah distant
May you not be far cast, Abu Usamah,
For death is a duty
For death is a debt incumbent on us all.
Death takes the life
Every man shall be assailed one day,
Of every person with unerring arrows
By arrows of fate that strike strictly true.
Impermanence was prescribed for servants
Extinction is decreed for all God's servants,
So every soul shall pass away
And every living soul must pass away.
How many dear ones have you left behind
How many a brother have you left behind,
With worries against you set up
Whose grief for you remains unceasingly?
He had thought it too grave before your death
It was a dreadful thought, before your death,
That you would take the place of the successor
That such a calamity should come to pass.
