The morning's radiance has appeared;
The dawn gleams with radiance
The radiance of the morning has broken forth,
so drive sorrow away with wine.
So banish worries and take delight
So banish sorrow with a cup of wine.

تِending of 'pleasures' النَدامىthe drinking companions لِلصَلاحِfor righteousness
I will not abandon the pleasures
I won't abandon pleasures
I shall never forsake the delights
of drinking companions for righteousness.
That bring future regrets
Of drinking companions for the sake of piety.

بِعتُI sold رُشديmy sound judgment بِطَلاحيfor my wickedness
Tell whoever seeks to set me right:
Tell those who wish me well
Say to the one who seeks my redemption:
I sold my sound judgment for my wickedness.
I sold my reason for madness
"I have traded my rectitude for vice."

A clever man's hand has triumphed,
A cunning hand clutched
Victorious is the hand of the cunning wit,
who sold virtue for sin.
Selling virtue for vice
Who has sold righteousness in exchange for sin.

The sweetest pleasures are those
The sweetest pleasures come
The sweetest of pleasures are those taken
that take place openly, with scandal.
Openly, with no shame
Openly, in the face of scandal.
