Pass me a cup of crystal-clear wine,
Give me a cup, cool and clear,
Offer me a cup, limpid and clear,
And leave aside the sweet, lawful drink.
Leave out the sweet lawful stuff,
And leave the fresh and lawful draught,

لتلقّينا الهلالا
Give it to me to drink—the daughter of the vine—
Serve it to me, daughter of nobility,
Pour me the daughter of the vine,
So it may bring us to meet the crescent moon.
That we may meet the new moon.
That we may meet the crescent moon.
