ياO سائِلَone who asks اللَهِGod فُزتَyou have attained بِالظَفَرِvictory
وَبِالنَوالِand with bounty الهَنِيِّpleasant لاnot الكَدَرِdistress
O you who ask God, you have attained victory,
O seeker of Allah, you have attained victory
O you who asks of God, you have achieved triumph,
And pleasant bounty, not distress.
And the delightful, pure gift, not the murky one
And a wholesome bounty, free of distress,
فَاِرغَبso turn in supplication إِلىto اللَهِGod لاnot إِلىto بَشَرٍa mortal
مُنتَقِلٍpassing فيthrough البِلىdecay وَفيand through الغِيَرِvicissitudes
So turn in supplication to God, not to a mortal,
So aspire towards Allah, not towards a human
So direct your hopes to God, not to a mortal,
Passing through decay and vicissitudes.
Who passes through decay and through others
Who shifts between decay and the vicissitudes of time,
وَاِرغَبand turn in supplication إِلىto اللَهِGod لاnot إِلىto جَسَدٍa body
مُنتَقِلٍpassing مِنfrom صِباًyouth إِلىto كِبَرِold age
And turn in supplication to God, not to a body,
And aspire towards Allah, not towards a body
And turn your plea to God, not to a mere body,
Passing from youth to old age.
That passes from youth to old age
That transitions from youth to old age,
إِنَّindeed الَّذيthe One who لاnot يَخيبُis disappointed سائِلُهُHis petitioner
جَوهَرُهُHis essence غَيرُunlike جَوهَرِthe essence of البَشَرِmortals
Indeed, the One whose petitioner is never disappointed—
Indeed the One who never disappoints those who seek Him
For He whose petitioner is never disappointed,
His essence is unlike the essence of mortals.
His essence is unlike the essence of humans
Possesses an Essence unlike that of mankind,
ماwhat لَكَwith you بِالتُرَّهاتِwith idle nonsense مُشتَغِلاًoccupied

Why are you occupied with idle nonsense?
Why do you occupy yourself with delusions?
What ails you, that you busy yourself with vanities?
Is safety from Saqar in your hands?
Is safety from hellfire in your hands?
Do you hold in your hands security from Hellfire?
