يا رَبِّ إِن عَظُمَت ذُنوبي كَثرَةً

يا رَبِّ إِن عَظُمَت ذُنوبي كَثرَةً

فَلَقَد عَلِمتُ بِأَنَّ عَفوَكَ أَعظَمُ

فَلَقَد عَلِمتُ بِأَنَّ عَفوَكَ أَعظَمُ

O my Lord, if my sins have grown great in number,

O Lord, though my sins are many in number

O Lord, if my sins have become great in their multitude,

then surely I know that Your pardon is greater.

I know Your pardon is yet greater

Indeed, I know that Your forgiveness is greater still.

إِن كانَ لا يَرجوكَ إِلّا مُحسِنٌ

إِن كانَ لا يَرجوكَ إِلّا مُحسِنٌ

فَبِمَن يَلوذُ وَيَستَجيرُ المُجرِمُ

فَبِمَن يَلوذُ وَيَستَجيرُ المُجرِمُ

If none but the doer of good hopes in You,

If none hopes in You but the righteous

If only the doer of good could hope in You,

then in whom does the sinner seek refuge and protection?

Then to whom shall the sinner go for refuge?

With whom, then, would the sinner seek refuge and protection?

أَدعوكَ رَبِّ كَما أَمَرتَ تَضَرُّعاً

أَدعوكَ رَبِّ كَما أَمَرتَ تَضَرُّعاً

فَإِذا رَدَدتَ يَدي فَمَن ذا يَرحَمُ

فَإِذا رَدَدتَ يَدي فَمَن ذا يَرحَمُ

I call upon You, my Lord, in humble supplication, as You commanded.

I pray to You, my Lord, as You have commanded

I call upon You, my Lord, as You commanded, in humble supplication,

So if You turn away my hand, who then will show mercy?

If You turn me away, who then will show mercy?

And if You turn away my hand, who then will show mercy?

ما لي إِلَيكَ وَسيلَةٌ إِلّا الرَجا

ما لي إِلَيكَ وَسيلَةٌ إِلّا الرَجا

وَجَميلُ عَفوِكَ ثُمَّ أَنّي مُسلِمُ

وَجَميلُ عَفوِكَ ثُمَّ أَنّي مُسلِمُ

I have no means of approaching You except hope,

I have no means to reach You but hope

I have no means to reach You except for hope,

and Your gracious pardon, and, moreover, that I am a Muslim.

And the beauty of Your pardon, for I am Muslim

And the beauty of Your pardon, and that I am a Muslim.
