O gazelle, O son of Siyar,
O young gazelle, son of the wilderness
O gazelle, O son of Siyar,
And adornment of the row of singing slave girls!
Adorning the line of does
And adornment of the ranks of singing maidens,
خُلِقتَyou were created فيin الحُسنِbeauty فَرداًpeerless
فَماso there is no لِحُسنِكَfor your beauty ثانِan equal
You were created peerless in beauty;
You were created uniquely beautiful
You were fashioned singular in beauty,
So your beauty has no equal.
Your beauty has no equal
So that your loveliness has no second;
كَأَنَّماas though أَنتَyou شَيءٌa thing
حَوىencompassed جَميعَall المَعانيthe meanings
It is as though you are a thing
As if you were a being
As though you were an essence
That has encompassed all meanings.
Encompassing all meanings
That encompasses all qualities of grace;
لِيَنعَتَنَّكَlet it surely describe you وَهميmy imagination
إِنif كَلَّfalters عَنكَabout you لِسانيmy tongue
Let my imagination surely describe you,
So that my imagination might attribute to you
Let my imagination describe you,
If my tongue falters in describing you.
If my tongue falls short of describing you
If my tongue grows weary of the task.
