فَدَيتُكِ لَم أَنَلكِ بِغَيرِ طَرفي

فَدَيتُكِ لَم أَنَلكِ بِغَيرِ طَرفي

فَكُلّي حاسِدٌ طَرفي عَلَيكِ

فَكُلّي حاسِدٌ طَرفي عَلَيكِ

My life for you! I have reached you only with my gaze.

I ransom you, though I have attained you with naught but my eyes,

May I be your ransom—I attained you only with my glance,

So all of me envies my eye because of you.

So every envier of my eyes toward you is hostile.

So all of me is envious of my eyes regarding you.

لَئِن آثَرتِ بَعضي دونَ بَعضي

لَئِن آثَرتِ بَعضي دونَ بَعضي

وَذَلِكَ يا مُنائي في يَدَيكِ

وَذَلِكَ يا مُنائي في يَدَيكِ

If indeed you have favored one part of me over another—

If you prefer some of me over some other part,

If indeed you have favored one part of me above the rest,

And that, O all I desire, is in your hands—

That, O my beloved, is in your hands.

And that decree, O my heart's desire, lies within your hands,

لَقَد أَودَعتِ مَن لَم تُسعِفيهِ

لَقَد أَودَعتِ مَن لَم تُسعِفيهِ

بِحاجَتِهِ تَباريحاً إِلَيكِ

بِحاجَتِهِ تَباريحاً إِلَيكِ

You have indeed placed within the one you have not aided

You have entrusted with one whose need you did not gratify

You have lodged in the one whose plea you would not answer

In his need, agonies of longing for you.

Distresses sent to you.

Agonies of longing directed towards you.
