لاmay not رَعىprotect اللَهُGod اِبنَson of رَوحٍRawh
وَسَّخَhe soiled اِسميmy name بِلُعابِهwith his saliva
May God not protect Ibn Rawh.
May God not tend a son of spirit
May God withdraw His care from Ibn Rawh,
He soiled my name with his saliva.
Who soiled my name with his spittle
For he has sullied my name with his spittle;
أَسقَمَmade ill اِسميmy name ريحُthe smell فيهِhis mouth
فَأَظُنُّso I think اِسميmy name لِماbecause of what بِهis afflicting it
The stench of his mouth sickened my name.
My name took ill from the wind in it
The reek of his mouth has sickened my name,
So I think my name—given what ails it...
So I believe because of what's in it
And I deem my name, from his taint, diseased.
فَاِطلُبواso seek ليfor me اِسماًa name سِواهُother than it
وَأَجِدّواand strive earnestly فيin طِلابِهseeking it
So seek for me a name other than it,
Seek me therefore another name
So seek out for me a name other than this,
And strive earnestly in seeking it.
And be earnest in seeking it
And be diligent in the quest.
