    Indeed, I am an avid drinker of pure wine,

    And an avid rider of graceful gazelles.

    And my only solace is every man

    Whose dwelling is gardens and thickets.

    أَينَعَ في خَدَّيهِ عُنّابُ

    So drink while gazing at a slender-waisted one's face;

    Jujubes have ripened on his cheeks.

    As though Harut, within his gaze,

    Were a purveyor of magic in his eyes.

    His fingertips are the cup's mount,

    Through them beauty has come to flow.
