I shall surely violate the sanctity of secrecy.
I will surely reveal the sanctity of secrecy
I shall surely profane the sanctity of secrecy,
Relief for the lovesick lies in disclosure.
The relief of the inquisitive in disclosure
For the lover's repose is found in confession.

راقِ جَهدي فَنَمَّتِ العَينانِ
I have tried to be patient in silence and with lowered
I have been patient with silence and withdrawal
I feigned patience in silence, keeping my head bowed
gaze, as best I could; yet both eyes betrayed me.
My efforts have made my eyes grow
Striving my utmost, yet my eyes betrayed the truth.

The talebearers left me a target for those who
The slanderers left me the topic of every advisor
The slanderers have made me a spectacle for pointing fingers,
point at me, and a topic of gossip everywhere.
And innovations in every place
And a cautionary tale recited in every place.
ماnot أَرىI see خالِيَينِtwo people alone لِلسِرِّto share a secret إِلّاexcept
ما أَرى خالِيَينِ لِلسِرِّ إِلّا
قُلتُI said ماnot يَخلُوانِthe two are alone together إِلّاexcept لِشانيconcerning me
قُلتُ ما يَخلُوانِ إِلّا لِشاني
Whenever I see two alone sharing a secret,
I do not see emptiers of the secret except
I never see two souls secluded for a secret,
I say, 'They are alone together only to speak of me.'
I said they do not empty except for my affair
But that I say: They meet only to speak of my affair.
