سَأَترُكُI shall leave alone خالِداًKhalid لِهَوىfor love of جِنانِJinan
وَإِنand even though جَلَّwas grave الَّذيwhat عَنهُfrom him أَتانيreached me
I shall leave Khalid alone for love of Jinan,
I will leave Khaled to the love of Jinnan
I shall abandon Khalid to his passion for Jinan,
though grave is what has reached me from him.
Even if he who came to me stays away for long
However grave the news of him that reached my ears;
فَقُلso say مِنfrom بَعدِafter ذاthis ماwhatever شِئتَyou wish أَوor زِدadd more
فَقَدfor indeed أَمسَيتَyou have become مِنّيfrom me فيin أَمانِsafety
So, after this, say what you wish—or say more;
So say after this what you wish or more
So say whatever you desire now, or speak yet more,
for you are now safe from me.
For you have become for me a safe haven
For you are truly safe and shielded from my harm.
لَقَدindeed أَغلَقتَyou shut بابَكَyour door دونَin front of ظَبيٍa gazelle
خَتَمتَyou sealed بِمُقلَتَيهِwith its two eyes عَلىupon لِسانيmy tongue
You have indeed shut your door on a gazelle;
You closed your door to a deer
You barred your door against a lovely gazelle,
with its two eyes you have sealed my tongue.
And sealed my tongue with its lashes
And with his eyes, you set a seal upon my tongue.
