أُهدي الثَناءَ إِلى الأَمينِ مُحَمَّدٍ

أُهدي الثَناءَ إِلى الأَمينِ مُحَمَّدٍ

ما بَعدَهُ لِتِجارَةٍ مُتَرَبَّصُ

ما بَعدَهُ لِتِجارَةٍ مُتَرَبَّصُ

I offer praise to al-Amin Muhammad.

I bestow praise upon the Trustworthy Muhammad

I offer praise to the Trustworthy, Muhammad,

Beyond him, there is no prospect for trade.

None after him is waiting in ambush for commerce

Beyond whom no merchant waits for better trade.

صَدَقَ الثَناءُ عَلى الأَمينِ مُحَمَّدٍ

صَدَقَ الثَناءُ عَلى الأَمينِ مُحَمَّدٍ

وَمِنَ الثَناءِ تَكَذُّبٌ وَتَخَرُّصُ

وَمِنَ الثَناءِ تَكَذُّبٌ وَتَخَرُّصُ

Praise of al-Amin Muhammad rings true,

True is the praise upon the Trustworthy Muhammad

Truthful is the praise for the Trustworthy, Muhammad,

Yet some praise is lies and baseless conjecture.

Yet from praise there is denial and evasion

While other praise is mere lying and fabrication.

قَد يَنقُصُ القَمَرُ المُنيرُ إِذا اِستَوى

قَد يَنقُصُ القَمَرُ المُنيرُ إِذا اِستَوى

وَبَهاءُ وَجهِ مُحَمَّدٍ لا يَنقُصُ

وَبَهاءُ وَجهِ مُحَمَّدٍ لا يَنقُصُ

The shining moon may wane when it reaches fullness,

The shining moon may wane when it's full

The shining moon may wane when it reaches perfection,

But the radiance of Muhammad's face does not wane.

But the brilliance of Muhammad's face does not wane

Yet the splendor of Muhammad's face never dims.

وَإِذا بَنو العَبّاسِ عُدَّ حَصاهُمُ

وَإِذا بَنو العَبّاسِ عُدَّ حَصاهُمُ

فَمُحَمَّدٌ ياقوتُها المُستَخلَصُ

فَمُحَمَّدٌ ياقوتُها المُستَخلَصُ

And when the pebbles of the sons of al-Abbas are counted,

And if the Abbasid sons are counted in number

And if the pebbles of the Abbasid clan were counted,

Then Muhammad is their chosen ruby.

Then Muhammad is their polished ruby extract

Then Muhammad is their pure, extracted ruby.
