أَلَم تَرَني أَبَحتُ اللَهوَ نَفسي

وَديني وَاِعتَكَفتُ عَلى المَعاصي

Do you not see that I have surrendered my soul to pleasure,

And my faith as well, whilst devoting myself to sin?

كَأَنّي لا أَعودُ إِلى مَعادٍ

وَلا أَخشى هُنالِكَ مِن قِصاصِ

As though I shall never return to the Place of Return,

And fear no retribution awaiting there.
