سأركبُI shall engage in ماwhatever استطعتُI can منof الحرامthe forbidden
وألهوand I take pleasure بالمردّةِwith beardless men والمُدامand wine
I shall commit all the sins I can,
I shall commit whatever sin is within my grasp,
And sport with beardless men and wine.
And amuse myself with beardless youths and wine,
وأطلبُand I seek حاجتيmy desire منfrom ظهرthe back of غيبٍthe unseen
منfrom البيضfair-skinned women الكواعبِfull-breasted والغلامِand the young man
And seek my pleasure out of sight,
And seek the fulfillment of my desire in secret,
From fair-skinned, full-breasted women and the young man.
From full-breasted maidens and the young boy.
أرىI consider نيكَfucking الشيوخold men عليّincumbent on me حقاًa duty
ليعرفَso that may know باطنيmy interior مُردُthe beardless men of الأنامhumankind
I deem fucking old men a duty incumbent on me,
I deem the bedding of elders a right upon me,
So the world's beardless men may know my depths.
That the youths of the world may know my inner nature,

And lovelier than a passion for goshawk and falcon,
And fairer than the love of hawk and falcon,
And sport with roosters and pigeons,
Or the sport of cockfighting and keeping pigeons,
ومنand than نفثِthe breath of الحروبwars وطعنand the thrust of رمحa spear

And than war's breath and a spear's thrust,
And better than the breath of war and the thrust of spears,
And steadfastness when the sword is drawn,
And steadfastness when the sharp sword is drawn,
هوىlove of مدخورةٍa secluded woman فيin بيتِthe house of علجa foreigner

Is love of a woman secluded in a foreigner's house,
Is the passion for a girl hoarded in a churl's house,
And fucking his daughters under cover of darkness.
And the ravishing of his daughters under the darkness.
فلاso not أطويI forgo إذاwhen نُفّرتُI am driven off صيديmy quarry
لحرمةٍout of respect for والدٍa father منهbefore him احتشاميmy bashfulness
So I will not forgo my quarry, even when driven off,
I do not abandon my quarry if I am startled,
Out of respect for a father before whom I feel shame,
Out of reverence for a father whose shame I might regard,

Nor for the Prince's tyranny, nor a judge's ban,
Nor for the words of the muezzin and the imam.
Nor for the words of the Muezzin or the Imam.
أأعصيshall I disobey? خالقيmy Creator وأخافُand fear جاريmy neighbor
وأكتمand I conceal سرَّthe secret of قلبيmy heart المستهامlovesick
Shall I disobey my Creator yet fear my neighbor,
Shall I disobey my Creator and yet fear my neighbor,
And conceal the secret of my lovesick heart?
And conceal the secret of my infatuated heart?

So say to those who abstain: "Have you found
Any cause to blame us for our loss?
Any cause to blame us in our perdition?"
وأشهىand sweeter منthan ركوبriding الخيلhorses عنديto me
ركوبُmounting خرائدٍlovely maidens بينamong الخيامِthe tents
And sweeter to me than riding horses
For more delicious to me than the riding of steeds,
Is mounting lovely maidens among the tents.
Is the riding of shy maidens amidst the tents.
