Drink and give the beloved a drink, O cupbearer.

And give me what remains in his cup.

And give him what I leave behind

In the cup deliberately, without concern.

I drink from what he leaves, and he drinks from

What I leave—such is the way of every yearning lover.

You came as a messenger, then became our cupbearer.

Hail to you as an envoy and as a cupbearer!
