Seek refuge from Ramadan
Seek refuge from Ramadan
Seek refuge from the fast of Ramadan,
in the choicest wines of the wine jars.
With the first rains of Shawwal
With choicest vintage from the earthen casks,

And pass Shawwal in revel-
And pass Shawwal with joy
And pass Shawwal in thunderous festivities,

Among the singing of sparrows
And in the warbling of the singing girls,

And let there be each day
And let each day
And let there be for you, in every day,

Bring you double joy
Two bouts of deep intoxication found,

Shawwal has placed a favor upon us,
and deserves our gratitude.
With bounty and grace
And truly it is worthy of our thanks;

It came with revelry and music-
Bringing fruit and glory
It came with revelry and music's strain,
making, and loosening the reins.
And release from restraint
And with the loosening of every rein.

The best month after
The most agreeable of months to me,
thest of them from Ramadan.
Ramadan, its noble father
Is that most distant from the Ramadan.
