Al-Khasib’s bread is suspended from the star,
The bread of Al-Khasib is suspended from the star,
guarded by every straightened spear and grooved sword.
Guarded by every straightened spear and ridged blade.
جَعَلَhe made الطَعامَthe food عَلىto السِغابِthe hungry مُحَرَّماًforbidden
جَعَلَ الطَعامَ عَلى السِغابِ مُحَرَّماً

قوتاً وَحَلَّلَهُ لِمَن لَم يَسغَبِ
He made food forbidden to the hungry
He has made food forbidden to the famished,
as sustenance, yet permitted it to those who did not hunger.
As sustenance, yet made it lawful for those who hunger not.
فَإِذاso when هُمُthey رَأواsaw الرَغيفَthe loaf تَطَرَّبواrejoiced
فَإِذا هُمُ رَأوا الرَغيفَ تَطَرَّبوا
طَرَبَthe joy of الصِيامِthose fasting إِلىto أَذانِthe call to prayer المَغرِبِsunset
طَرَبَ الصِيامِ إِلى أَذانِ المَغرِبِ
So when they saw the loaf, they rejoiced
So when they catch sight of a loaf, they thrill with joy,
as those fasting rejoice at the sunset call to prayer.
Like the joy of the fasting for the sunset call to prayer.
