قَدindeed أَصبَحَhas become المُلكُkingship بِالمُنىin attaining wishes ظَفِراtriumphant
كَأَنَّماas though كانَwas عاشِقاًa lover قَدِراcapable
Kingship has now attained its wishes,
The king has achieved his wish through perseverance
The Realm has triumphed, attaining its desire,
As though it were a lover able to prevail.
As if he had been a lover, determined.
As though it were a lover, destined to prevail.

It was led by its ropes to a king;
He has chained his kingdom to a king
Led by its tethers to a sovereign King,
Kingship had never loved a mortal before him.
No king before him has loved the people so.
For Kingship never loved a mortal man before.
حَسبُكَsufficient for you وَجهُthe face الأَمينِal-Amin مِنas قَمَرٍa moon
إِذاwhen طَوىfolds away اللَيلُthe night دونَكَfrom your sight القَمَراthe moon
Al-Amin's face is moon enough for you,
It is enough that the face of the faithful king is like the moon
Suffice you the face of Al-Amin as a moon,
When night folds the moon away from your sight.
When the night hides the moon from you.
When night conceals the celestial moon from view.
خَليفَةٌa caliph يَعتَنيcares بِأُمَّتِهِfor his community
وَإِنand even if أَتَتهُcome to him ذُنوبُهاits sins غَفَراhe forgives
A caliph who cares for his people,
A Caliph who takes care of his nation
A Caliph who keeps watch over his nation,
And even if their sins come before him, he forgives.
And forgives their sins if they commit them
And when their sins come before him, grants forgiveness.
حَتّىso much so that لَوِif اِستَطاعَhe could مِنout of تَحَنُّنِهِhis tender compassion
دافَعَhe would ward off عَنهاfrom it القَضاءَthe decree وَالقَدَراand destiny
So much so that, if he could, out of his compassion,
To the extent that if he could - out of his compassion
Such that, were he able, out of his tenderness,
He would ward off decree and destiny from them.
Repel destiny and divine decree from it.
He would ward off from them both Fate and Destiny.
