The full moon has indeed mirrored your splendor.
The full moon told of your beauty
The full moon has mimicked your splendor,
So whoever saw you saw it.
And he who saw you saw it too
So whoever saw you has seen it too.

And it gloried in beauty when
And he compared you in beauty
It boasted of its beauty only when
It became your likeness in beauty.
When comparing beauty to you
It came to rival you in grace.

O angry one, be gentle!
O angry one, be gentle
O angry one, be gentle now,
May my soul be your ransom.
For my soul is ransomed for you
May my own soul be your ransom.

O you who resemble the full moon in beauty,
O you who resemble the full moon in beauty
O likeness of the full moon in fairness,
My patience in resisting love for you has waned.
My patience for passion of you grows slim
My patience for your love has worn thin.
