If my eye suffers because of her, happy is
If she delights my eyes through you, then my prophet's eye has prospered, and I have won good news.
If my eye is tormented by her, then fortunate indeed
My messenger’s eye, and I have gained the news.
So whenever her messenger comes to me, I send back my yearning in his glance.
Is the eye of my messenger, and I have won the news.
فَكُلَّماso whenever جاءَنيcomes to me الرَسولُthe messenger لَهاto her
فَكُلَّما جاءَني الرَسولُ لَها

رَدَّدتُ شَوقاً في طَرفِهِ نَظَري
So whenever the messenger sent to her comes to me,
In his glance appear her beauties; they have left on him the best impression.
Thus, whenever the messenger comes to me from her,
In longing, I turn my gaze again and again to his eyes.
Take my eyelashes as a loan, O messenger, then look with them and judge my sight.
I cast my gaze repeatedly into his eyes out of longing.

Her beauties appear in his eyes;
For her beauties appear reflected in his glance,
They have left the finest impression on him.
Having left upon him the most exquisite impression.

Take my eye on loan, O messenger;
Take my eyes, O messenger, as a borrowed trust,
So look with it, and take command of my sight.
Look through them, and hold dominion over my sight.
