O Amr, who is this boy who
O Amr, who is this youth
O Amr, who is this young lad who
passed by us in the neighborhood, running?
Who passed by us in the neighborhood alarmed
Passed by us in the camp, dashing along?

Is he afraid of intimacy with your rogues?
Fleeing from the joining of your poets
Is he terrified of the approach of your rogues,
For perhaps they have been distracted from us.
For perhaps they have been distracted from us
For perhaps they have been distracted from us?
بِاللَهِby God أَسقِطنيinform me عَلىabout أَمرِهِhis situation

By God, tell me about him,
By Allah, enlighten me about his matter
By God, reveal to me his story,
for someone has indeed gone mad.
For some of the people have become possessed
For truly, some people have gone mad.
