Who will join me in revelry and merriment,

for a morning draught of water from rainclouds and grapes?

Red, yellow when mixed—you would think it

like pearls, encircled by a string of bubbles.

Whoever tastes it once never forgets it,

until he is hidden away in shrouds and dust.

So dispel your worry with drinking companions, at ease,

and with wine, for this is the most gratifying of desires.

And shun stinginess, for stinginess leads

    to calamities, sorrows, and anguish.
