    You see all beings comprehensively,

    without an imprint, O All-Seeing One, or an eye.

    You see through what no creature whatsoever has seen

    through—absolutely intrinsic to Your Essence, not through an intermediary.

    You, the true All-Seeing One, see by Your Essence, not by what

    they speak of: the inherence of eternal attributes.

    And the truth is only that Your Essence perceives,

    all-seeing, without claiming an instrumental 'by'.

    You see my condition, its manifest and its hidden aspects,

    and the aim of my affairs, and the neediness of my being,

    and how I suffer in every place,

    and my heart's darkness and the obliteration of my inner sight.

    فمطلق خسراني بجهلي برتبتي

    My God, give me insight into myself and my worth;

    for my utter loss stems from my ignorance of my rank.

    My God, by what You have seen of my shortcomings

    and my poor choices, You conceal my lack.

    And where can I flee and hide, when You, O

    All-Seeing One, encompass everything and witnessing itself?

    بانشوطة من جهله وأخية

    My God, one veiled by dense material forms is fettered

    by a noose of his ignorance and a tethering loop;

    فما عزبت يا رب عنك بليتي

    and he is within the All-Merciful's sight, which truly penetrates;

    so my affliction, O Lord, has not been hidden from You.
