تقدس عن نقص وعن عارضية

Self-sufficiency belongs necessarily to the Self-Sufficient by His very essence;

The obligation of Divine Self-Sufficiency is the right of the Self-Sufficient for His own sake

He is exalted above deficiency and anything adventitious.

Holy beyond any deficiency or contingency

غناك قديم في الصفات وذاتك ال

غناك قديم في الصفات وذاتك ال

جليل وفي أفعالك القدسية

جليل وفي أفعالك القدسية

Your self-sufficiency is eternal in Your attributes and Your essence—the

Your eternal wealth lies in Your attributes and essence

Majestic—and in Your holy acts.

Majestic in Your holy acts

غني غناه مطلق واجب البقا

غني غناه مطلق واجب البقا

وكل قيود الفقر للحدثية

وكل قيود الفقر للحدثية

Self-Sufficient, whose self-sufficiency is absolute and necessarily everlasting;

Self-sufficient in absolute, necessary permanence

And all the bonds of need belong to created existence.

While all constraints of poverty belong to origination

غني غناه لا يحول بمانع

غني غناه لا يحول بمانع

وما فوقه مغن ولا تحت علة

وما فوقه مغن ولا تحت علة

Self-Sufficient, whose self-sufficiency no hindrance can alter;

Self-sufficient, unchanged by any impediment

And none above Him grants Him sufficiency, nor is He subject to a cause.

With none above You as giver, nor beneath as receiver

غني تجلى بالغنى في شؤونه

غني تجلى بالغنى في شؤونه

غناء حقيقياً عن المكنية

غناء حقيقياً عن المكنية

Self-Sufficient, manifest in self-sufficiency in His affairs,

Self-sufficient, manifest in independence through His acts

A true independence from contingency [uncertain reading].

True wealth, beyond mere attribution

غني غناه لا يحول بمانع

لا يتخطاه افتقار الخليقة

لا يتخطاه افتقار الخليقة

Self-Sufficient, whose self-sufficiency no hindrance can alter;

Self-sufficient, unchanged by any impediment

Creation's need does not pass beyond Him.

Beyond neediness of creation's poverty

غني غناه لا يبيد بمنتهى

غني غناه لا يبيد بمنتهى

ولم يتعلق عز شأناً بنسبة

ولم يتعلق عز شأناً بنسبة

Self-Sufficient, whose self-sufficiency no final limit can extinguish;

Self-sufficient, undimmed by any end

Nor does He depend—exalted in station—on any relation.

His might attached to no relative degree

الهي غني الأغنياء ممدهم

الهي غني الأغنياء ممدهم

ملكت افتقاري يا مليك وغنيتي

ملكت افتقاري يا مليك وغنيتي

My God, Richest of the rich, their sustainer,

My God, Self-Sufficient over all the wealthy

You hold dominion over my need, O Sovereign, and my sufficiency.

My poverty and need belong to You, King and Self-Sufficient

افض لي غني الأغنياء غناية

افض لي غني الأغنياء غناية

بفضلك يا ذا الرحمة الأوسعية

بفضلك يا ذا الرحمة الأوسعية

Pour forth for me, Richest of the rich, sufficiency,

Grant me, O Most Merciful, the wealth of the wealthy

Through Your bounty, O Possessor of all-embracing mercy.

My God, the servant's wealth is in Truth, nothing else

الهي غناء العبد بالحق لا سوى

الهي غناء العبد بالحق لا سوى

هنا انتصبت بالفقر أيدي البرية

هنا انتصبت بالفقر أيدي البرية

My God, the servant's sufficiency is through the Real alone;

Your wealth of the indigent does not change their station

Here the hands of creation are raised in need.

Nor remove their poverty by necessity

واغناؤك الفاقات ليس يحيلها

واغناؤك الفاقات ليس يحيلها

إلى مركز عن فقرها بالضرورة

إلى مركز عن فقرها بالضرورة

And Your enriching the needy does not transform them

Into a state beyond their intrinsic need.
