نجني يا خلاق من كل كرب
ليسnot تشقيsuffers misery عليكbefore You لهجةvoice مثليone like me
ليس تشقي عليك لهجة مثلي
Save me, O Creator, from every distress.
Deliver me, O Creator, from all distress,
The voice of one like me is not left wretched before You.
My plight does not trouble You, though strange my tongue,
وأتحand grant ليto me نجاةdeliverance ذيpossessor of النونthe fish وحياswiftly
وأتح لي نجاة ذي النون وحيا
ياO قريبNear One الدانيthe Close One بغيرwithout محلa place
يا قريب الداني بغير محل
And swiftly grant me deliverance like that of Dhu al-Nun.
And grant me the salvation of Jonah and life,
O Near One, close without occupying a place.
O Near One though without place,
واستجبand answer ياO مجيبAnswerer دعوةprayer of مظلوone wronged (continued)
واستجب يا مجيب دعوة مظلو
مcompletes 'wronged' غريبa stranger مستضعفoppressed مستذلhumiliated
م غريب مستضعف مستذل
And answer, O Answerer, the prayer of one wronged—
And answer, O Answerer, the call of the wronged,
A stranger, oppressed and humiliated.
A stranger made lowly and humiliated,
صادقtrue to الوعدthe promise هذهthese دعواتيmy prayers
صادق الوعد هذه دعواتي
أنجزfulfill الوعدthe promise وابتدرنيand hasten to me بكفلwith a share
أنجز الوعد وابتدرني بكفل
O You who are true to Your promise, these are my prayers.
True of promise, these are my prayers,
Fulfill the promise, and hasten to grant me a share.
Fulfill the promise and protect me with care.
