حميد الفعال الواجب الحمد والثنا

بحمدك حققني حميد الطريقة

Praiseworthy in deeds, to whom praise and acclaim are due,

Through praising You, make me truly praiseworthy in my path.

حميد الفعال الفاتح الواهب المنى

بحمدك أوقف موقف الحمد وجهتي

Praiseworthy in deeds, the Opener, the Bestower of wishes,

Through praising You, fix my course at the station of praise.

حميد الفعال المستحق لذاته

محامده من نفسه الأزلية

Praiseworthy in deeds, deserving by His very essence

Of His praises from His own beginningless Self.

حميد الفعال المستحق لحمدنا

بلا مقتضى مستوجب الحامدية

Praiseworthy in deeds, deserving of our praise,

Without any cause necessitating the act of praising.

حميد الفعال الحامد الحق نفسه

ومحض امتنان منه حمد الخليقة

Praiseworthy in deeds, the Truth who praises Himself,

And creation's praise is pure grace from Him.

حميد الفعال القائم الحمد وجهه

غني الكمال الحق عن حمد فطرة

Praiseworthy in deeds, in whose Face praise abides,

The Truth, self-sufficient in perfection, needs no praise from created nature.

حميد الفعال المعجز الحصر حمده

لما يقتضي مجد الصفات العلية

Praiseworthy in deeds, whose praise defies enumeration,

Because of what the glory of His exalted attributes demands.

حميد الفعال ارفع بحمدك فاقتي

وأحمد مقاماتي وكمل نقيصيتي

Praiseworthy in deeds, relieve my need through praising You,

And make my stations praiseworthy, and perfect what is deficient in me.

حميد الفعال اجعل شئوني حميدة

بقبضي وبسطي عند أنسي ووحشتي

Praiseworthy in deeds, make my affairs praiseworthy,

In my contraction and expansion, in my intimacy and desolation.

حميد الفعال أبسط لروحي ارتياحها

بحمدك وابسط في ثنائك بسطتي

Praiseworthy in deeds, let my spirit's ease unfold,

Through praising You; and in extolling You, broaden my expansiveness.

حميد الفعال ارحم مقامي بائساً

لك الحمد حمداً طيباً فك عسرتي

Praiseworthy in deeds, have mercy on my wretched state;

To You belongs praise, pure praise; undo my hardship.
