أحاط بيَ الكرب العظيم وأنت يا

لطيف عظيم اللطف في حل كربتي

Overwhelming anguish has closed around me, while You, O

Great anguish has surrounded me, and You, O

Gentle One, are boundless in grace, able to undo my anguish.

Subtle One, are great in kindness in relieving my anguish.

لطفت فلم تدرك تقدست سيدي

لطفت فلم تدرك تقدست سيدي

عن الدرك في الدنيا وفي الاخروية

عن الدرك في الدنيا وفي الاخروية

You are subtle and cannot be apprehended—exalted are You, my Lord—

You are too subtle to be perceived; holy are You, my Lord,

beyond apprehension in this world and in the Hereafter.

لطفت فأدركت الكوائن مطلقاً

وسيان خافيها ودرك الجلية

You are subtle, yet You encompass all beings without exception;

You are subtle, and so You comprehend all beings without limit;

what is hidden among them and apprehending what is manifest are alike to You.

لطفت فهيأت المصالح كلها

بغير احتساب محض بر ورحمة

In subtle grace, You prepared every good,

You showed kindness and prepared every benefit,

beyond all expectation—pure beneficence and mercy.

ولطفك في أفعال ذاتك خارج

عن الحصر رفقاً سيدي بالخليقة

عن الحصر رفقاً سيدي بالخليقة

Your grace in the acts of Your Essence is beyond

And Your kindness in the acts of Your Essence is beyond

all reckoning, out of kindness, my Lord, toward creation.

You showed subtle grace by easing the difficult, by Your mending of the—

You were kind to me, O One of hidden kindness, and covered me;

You guided me graciously and brought my blessing to completion.

علي وخامت دون صبري عزيمتي

Misfortunes came one upon another, and misery ripened to harvest

ولطفك أدنى يا لطيف من البلا

Yet Your grace is nearer, O Gentle One, than affliction,

Yet Your kindness is nearer, O Subtle One, than affliction,

even if my ordeal outweighed East and West.

بأسرار لطف اللّه في ملكوته

وفي ملكه ألطف يا لطيف بعرجتي

By the mysteries of God's grace throughout His heavenly dominion

By the mysteries of God's kindness in His dominion

and His kingdom: O Gentle One, deal gently with my frailty.
