على كل شيء رب أنت مهيمن

على كل شيء منك سلطان حسبة

Over all things, Lord, You are the Guardian;

Over all things extends Your authority of oversight.

شهدت خفايا الممكنات وجهرها

فما غاب منها عنك مثقال ذرة

You have witnessed the hidden and the manifest in contingent beings;

So not a speck's weight of them has escaped You.

رقيب عليهم بالذي يعلمونه

وآجال كل منهم والمعيشة

You watch over them concerning what they know,

And the appointed lifespans of each of them, and their livelihood.

رقيب عليهم حافظ لنظامهم

أحطت بهم ما بين علم وقدرة

You watch over them, preserving their order;

You have encompassed them in knowledge and power alike.

رقيب على الأسرار كيف تلونت

قريب من الأرواح قرب محبة

You watch over secrets, however they change their hues;

Near to souls with the nearness of love.

مشاهد مكنون الخواطر كاشف ال

خفايا بصير القوة الظاهرية

You behold what is hidden in thoughts, unveiling the

hidden things, discerning the outward power.

الهي اشغلني بتجريد خاطري

مراقبة للحق في كل لحظة

My God, occupy me with stripping my mind bare,

In watchful awareness of the Truth at every moment.

الهي اكشف البلوى فإني راجع

إليك على سوء بصدق الطوية

My God, lift the affliction, for I am returning

To You, despite my wrongdoing, with sincerity of intent.

دعائي عريض والمهيمن حاكم

وجل بلائي من أعادي الشريعة

My supplication is broad, and the Guardian is the Judge;

And most of my affliction comes from enemies of the Sharia.

وهيمنة اللّه احتوت كل ممكن

فما قدر كشف الضر عن ذي بلية

And God's guardianship has encompassed every contingent being;

What, then, does lifting harm from one afflicted amount to?

تارك بلائي يا مهيمن وارعني

بظلك واسمع يا مهيمن صرختي

Leave my affliction aside, O Guardian, and care for me,

Under Your shade; and hear, O Guardian, my cry.
