ويا مالك الملك ذا العز والبقا

ء والمجد والآلاء والحمد وافيا

O Sovereign of all dominion, Possessor of might and abiding life—

And O Master of sovereignty, Possessor of might and eternity,

and of majesty and blessings; to You is praise in full.

of glory and blessings, and praise in all its fullness;

ومن يملك الأملاك في جبروتها

ومن يملك الأملاك في جبروتها

وما ملكت من ملكه ليس فانيا

وما ملكت من ملكه ليس فانيا

You who hold all kingdoms in their overwhelming power,

and You who possess the kingdoms in their might,

while nothing held within Your dominion ever passes away;

what they possess of Your dominion is imperishable;

ومن سبح العرش العظيم بحمده

ومن سبح العرش العظيم بحمده

وما فيه من خلق جهاراً وخافيا

وما فيه من خلق جهاراً وخافيا

You whom the mighty Throne glorifies with praise,

and You whom the mighty Throne glorifies with praise,

with every creature upon it, both manifest and hidden;

and every creature within it, openly and in secret;

ومن حكمة الأقدار تجري بحكمه

ومن حكمة الأقدار تجري بحكمه

فما شاء من مقدوره كان جاريا

فما شاء من مقدوره كان جاريا

You by whose wisdom all destinies unfold under Your command,

and You by whose decree the wisdom of destinies unfolds,

so that whatever You will from Your decrees comes to pass;

so whatever You will of what You ordain comes to pass;

ومن حكمه عدل وفضل منزه

ومن حكمه عدل وفضل منزه

عن الظلم قطعاً كلما كان قاضيا

عن الظلم قطعاً كلما كان قاضيا

Your judgment is justice and grace, utterly free

and You whose judgment is justice and grace, free

of injustice whenever You pronounce judgment;

from injustice altogether, whenever You judge;

ومن ملكه لا ينقص المن شأنه

ومن ملكه لا ينقص المن شأنه

ولا تدرك الأوهام منه تناهيا

ولا تدرك الأوهام منه تناهيا

Your generous giving never diminishes the glory of Your realm,

and You whose dominion's grandeur giving cannot diminish,

nor can imagination fathom any limit to You.

nor can imaginings grasp any limit to it:

بطولك ملكني غنى غير نافد

بطولك ملكني غنى غير نافد

وهب لي ملكاً مدة العمر كافيا

وهب لي ملكاً مدة العمر كافيا

By Your bounty, grant me wealth that never runs out,

by Your bounty, grant me wealth that never runs out,

and grant me possessions sufficient for the span of my life.

and bestow on me possessions sufficient for my lifetime.

ووفر لي النعماء وافتح خزائن ال

ووفر لي النعماء وافتح خزائن ال

مواهب وابسط لي ووسع ثرائيا

مواهب وابسط لي ووسع ثرائيا

Lavish Your blessings upon me, and open the treasuries of

And make blessings abundant for me, and open the treasuries of the

Your gifts; enlarge my means and make my riches abundant.

gifts; give abundantly to me, and increase my wealth.

وصن بالغنى يا مالك الملك والرضا

وصن بالغنى يا مالك الملك والرضا

صحيفة وجهي عن ذليل مثاليا

صحيفة وجهي عن ذليل مثاليا

Through wealth and contentment, O Sovereign of all dominion, preserve

And with wealth and contentment, O Master of sovereignty, protect

the page of my face from displaying the image of abasement.

the page of my face from a lowly one like me.

ولا تلق حاجاتي إلى غير قادر

ولا تلق حاجاتي إلى غير قادر

على النزع والايتاء ما دمت باقيا

على النزع والايتاء ما دمت باقيا

Do not consign my needs to anyone incapable

And do not cast my needs upon one unable

of withholding and bestowing, for as long as I remain alive.

to take away and bestow, for as long as I live.

فلا خير إلا من يديك ولا غنى

فلا خير إلا من يديك ولا غنى

لك الملك تؤتي الفضل تولي الأياديا

لك الملك تؤتي الفضل تولي الأياديا

No good comes except from Your hands, nor is there any true sufficiency.

For neither good nor wealth comes except from Your hands.

Yours is the kingdom: You grant bounty and confer benefactions.

Yours is sovereignty; You bestow bounty and confer favors.
