تعلق عجزي باسم مقتدرٍ ولم

يضع عجز ملتاذ بمقتدرية

My helplessness has clung to the name of the All-Powerful, and never

has the helplessness of one seeking refuge in His might been wasted.

ومالي اقتدار أن تراني ضارعاً

ومالي اقتدار أن تراني ضارعاً

إليك ولكن أنت قومت قدرتي

إليك ولكن أنت قومت قدرتي

And I have no power even for You to see me pleading

to You; yet You have sustained my power.

ومالي تدبير وأمر وخيرة

ومالي تدبير وأمر وخيرة

وسلب وايجاب لتصريف درة

وسلب وايجاب لتصريف درة

And I have no governance, command, or choice,

nor power to negate or affirm in directing a pearl.

بلى منك ايجادي واقدار نشأتي

وتصريف أطواري واطلاق مكنتي

وتصريف أطواري واطلاق مكنتي

Indeed, from You come my creation and the empowering of my being,

and the ordering of my stages and the freeing of my capacity.

وأكرمتني بالأمر والنهي مظهراً

وأكرمتني بالأمر والنهي مظهراً

لعلمك بي في سابق الأزلية

لعلمك بي في سابق الأزلية

And You honored me with command and prohibition, as a manifestation

of Your knowledge of me in eternity past.

فهب لي اقتداراً في مراضيك سيدي

فهب لي اقتداراً في مراضيك سيدي

وعزز على نفسي اقتدراي وسلطتي

وعزز على نفسي اقتدراي وسلطتي

So grant me power in what pleases You, my Master,

and strengthen my power and authority over my own self.

ومالي وللأعداء بعد شكايتي

ومالي وللأعداء بعد شكايتي

إليك وتفويضي إليك معيتي

إليك وتفويضي إليك معيتي

And what have I to do with enemies, after my complaint

to You and my entrusting my company to You?

فصب عليهم سوط مقتدر فما

فصب عليهم سوط مقتدر فما

مساعيهم في الأرض عنك بخفية

مساعيهم في الأرض عنك بخفية

So pour upon them the lash of the All-Powerful, for

their endeavors on earth are not hidden from You.

فما رحموا تحت اقتدارك بائساً

فما رحموا تحت اقتدارك بائساً

ولا عاينوا أقدارهم تحت قدرة

ولا عاينوا أقدارهم تحت قدرة

For under Your power they showed no mercy to the wretched,

nor did they see their own standing beneath a greater power.

وخذهم برجز أخذ مقتدر كما

وخذهم برجز أخذ مقتدر كما

أخذت على الطغيان كل جبلة

أخذت على الطغيان كل جبلة

And seize them with torment, as the All-Powerful seizes, just as

You seized every people for their tyranny.

وسلط عليهم سطوة اليم لا تدع

وسلط عليهم سطوة اليم لا تدع

لهم مركباً يجري على متر لجة

لهم مركباً يجري على متر لجة

And unleash the sea's fury upon them; do not leave

them a vessel sailing over even a metre of deep water.
