الهي فطرت الكون ابداع فاطر

بغير مثال تحتذيه وصنعة

بغير مثال تحتذيه وصنعة

My God, You fashioned the universe in a Creator’s act of invention,

My God, You created the universe with an Originator's creativity,

without a model to imitate or any workmanship,

without a model or crafted work to imitate.

ولاثم قانون تعاليت تنتحي

ولاثم قانون تعاليت تنتحي

إليه ولا عن فعل طبع وعلة

إليه ولا عن فعل طبع وعلة

nor was there a law—exalted are You—that You might follow,

Nor is there any law—exalted are You—for You to resort

nor did it arise through the workings of nature or causation.

to; nor did You create through nature's action or a cause.

ويا فاطراً رتق السموات منزلاً

ويا فاطراً رتق السموات منزلاً

بأمرك جنس الروح والملكية

بأمرك جنس الروح والملكية

O Originator, who split the heavens’ joined fabric, sending down

And O You who cleave the joined mass of the heavens, sending down

by Your command the order of spirits and the angelic realm;

by Your command, the order of spirits and angels;

ويا فاطراً للأرض مخرج نبتها

ويا فاطراً للأرض مخرج نبتها

وأجسامنا من عالم البرزخية

وأجسامنا من عالم البرزخية

O Originator of the earth, bringing forth its vegetation

And O Originator of the earth, bringing forth its vegetation

and our bodies from the realm of intermediate existence;

and our bodies from the intermediate realm;

ويا فاطراً لم تفطر الكون عابثاً

ويا فاطراً لم تفطر الكون عابثاً

ولكنه آيات حكم وحكمة

ولكنه آيات حكم وحكمة

O Originator, You did not fashion the universe in vain,

And O Originator, You did not create the universe in idle play;

but made it signs of wise decrees and wisdom;

rather, it consists of signs of judgment and wisdom.

ويا فاطر الأشياء فطرة قادر

ويا فاطر الأشياء فطرة قادر

تقدس في انشائها عن معونة

تقدس في انشائها عن معونة

O Originator of all things, with an Almighty One’s origination,

And O Originator of things, creating as a mighty One,

holy beyond needing aid in bringing them into being;

hallowed beyond needing help in bringing them into being;

ويا فاطراً للخير والشر قاضياً

ويا فاطراً للخير والشر قاضياً

لكسبهما منا اتباع المشيئة

لكسبهما منا اتباع المشيئة

O Originator of good and evil, ordaining

And O Originator of good and evil, decreeing

that we acquire them in accordance with the divine Will;

that our acquisition of both should follow the divine will;

ويا فاطر الأشياء كيف أرادها

ويا فاطر الأشياء كيف أرادها

وقدرها في عالم الصورية

وقدرها في عالم الصورية

O Originator of all things however You willed them,

And O Originator of things, however He willed them,

determining them in the realm of forms;

and gave them measure in the realm of form;

ويا فاطر الأعراض حسب اختلافها

ويا فاطر الأعراض حسب اختلافها

وتطبيقها في قالب الجسدية

وتطبيقها في قالب الجسدية

O Originator of attributes in all their diversity,

And O Originator of accidental qualities, according to their diversity,

embodying them within the mold of corporeal existence—

and their fitting into the mold of corporeality;

تدارك بسر الفاطر الحق منيتي

تدارك بسر الفاطر الحق منيتي

باخراجها لي من خفا العدمية

باخراجها لي من خفا العدمية

fulfill, by the mystery of the true Originator, my heart’s desire,

Attend to my wish through the mystery of the true Originator,

bringing it forth for me from the hiddenness of nonbeing.

by bringing it forth for me from the concealment of nonexistence.
