الهي فطرت الكون ابداع فاطر

بغير مثال تحتذيه وصنعة

بغير مثال تحتذيه وصنعة

My God, You brought the universe into being with an Originator's inventiveness,

O God, You originated the universe in perfection, O Originator

without a model to follow or recourse to craft;

Without an example to emulate or a craft to follow

ولاثم قانون تعاليت تنتحي

ولاثم قانون تعاليت تنتحي

إليه ولا عن فعل طبع وعلة

إليه ولا عن فعل طبع وعلة

nor is there a law—exalted are You—that You turn

Nor a transcendent law to rise toward

toward; nor is creation the work of nature and causation.

And not from an act, nature, or cause

ويا فاطراً رتق السموات منزلاً

ويا فاطراً رتق السموات منزلاً

بأمرك جنس الروح والملكية

بأمرك جنس الروح والملكية

And O You who cleft the joined heavens, sending down

O Originator, You set the orbits of the heavens in place

by Your command the race of spirits and angels;

By Your command the kinds of souls and angels

ويا فاطراً للأرض مخرج نبتها

ويا فاطراً للأرض مخرج نبتها

وأجسامنا من عالم البرزخية

وأجسامنا من عالم البرزخية

and O Originator of the earth, bringing forth its vegetation

O Originator of the earth, the source of its plants

and our bodies from the intermediate realm;

And our bodies from the world of the intermediate realm

ويا فاطراً لم تفطر الكون عابثاً

ويا فاطراً لم تفطر الكون عابثاً

ولكنه آيات حكم وحكمة

ولكنه آيات حكم وحكمة

and O Originator, You did not create the universe in idle play;

O Originator, You did not originate the universe in vain

rather, it is signs of governance and wisdom.

But it is signs of wisdom and wisdom

ويا فاطر الأشياء فطرة قادر

ويا فاطر الأشياء فطرة قادر

تقدس في انشائها عن معونة

تقدس في انشائها عن معونة

And O Originator of things, creating as One all-powerful,

O Originator of things, Your origination was All Powerful

exalted above assistance in bringing them into being;

You are sanctified in their creation without aid

ويا فاطراً للخير والشر قاضياً

ويا فاطراً للخير والشر قاضياً

لكسبهما منا اتباع المشيئة

لكسبهما منا اتباع المشيئة

and O Originator of good and evil, decreeing

O Originator of good and evil, their Judge

that our acquisition of both follow Your will;

To reap them from us by following Your will

ويا فاطر الأشياء كيف أرادها

ويا فاطر الأشياء كيف أرادها

وقدرها في عالم الصورية

وقدرها في عالم الصورية

and O Originator of things as You willed them

O Originator of things, however You willed them

and ordained them in the realm of form;

And predetermined them in the world of forms

ويا فاطر الأعراض حسب اختلافها

ويا فاطر الأعراض حسب اختلافها

وتطبيقها في قالب الجسدية

وتطبيقها في قالب الجسدية

and O Originator of accidental qualities in their diversity

O Originator of attributes according to their differences

and their fitting into the mold of corporeality:

And manifestations in the mold of the physical

تدارك بسر الفاطر الحق منيتي

تدارك بسر الفاطر الحق منيتي

باخراجها لي من خفا العدمية

باخراجها لي من خفا العدمية

fulfill my wish through the mystery of the true Originator,

Save me by the secret of the True Originator

by bringing it forth for me from the concealment of nonbeing.

By bringing me out of the gloom of nothingness
