الهِيَ أنت الوارث الملك مطلقاً

My God, You are the Inheritor, the King, absolutely;

My God, You are the absolute Inheritor of dominion,

by virtue of Your being, You remain after all creation,

For You remain after all creation,

على أنه لم تنتقل عنك ذرة

على أنه لم تنتقل عنك ذرة

من الملك في الأزال والأبدية

من الملك في الأزال والأبدية

although not a single atom ever passed from You

Though not a single mote has passed from You

of all dominion, in pre-eternity or everlastingness.

Of dominion, in beginningless and endless eternity.

وعبدك والملك الذي أنت منعم

وعبدك والملك الذي أنت منعم

عليه به في القبضة المالكية

عليه به في القبضة المالكية

Your servant, and the dominion You have bestowed

And Your servant and the property You graciously bestow

upon him through it, are within the sovereign grasp.

Upon him are within Your sovereign grasp.

لك الملك والملك المدبر أمره

لك الملك والملك المدبر أمره

بغير اعتبار لانتقال اراثة

بغير اعتبار لانتقال اراثة

Yours are the dominion and the king whose affair is governed,

Yours are dominion and property, whose affairs are governed,

without any notion of inheritance being transferred.

Without any notion of transfer through inheritance.

وكونك خير الوارثين دلالة ال

وكونك خير الوارثين دلالة ال

بقاء وإن لا حد للصمدية

بقاء وإن لا حد للصمدية

Your being the best of inheritors is a sign of

And Your being the best of inheritors is a sign of

continuance, and that there is no bound to divine self-sufficiency.

Abiding existence, though absolute self-sufficiency has no limit.

وقولك نحن الوارثون جلالة

وقولك نحن الوارثون جلالة

تجل عن الأعواز والممكنية

تجل عن الأعواز والممكنية

Your saying, “We are the inheritors,” is a majesty

And Your words, 'We are the Inheritors,' proclaim majesty

exalted above need and contingency.

وايراثك المخلوق للملك نعمة

وايراثك المخلوق للملك نعمة

على أنه ما حال عنك بلحظة

على أنه ما حال عنك بلحظة

Your causing the creature to inherit dominion is a blessing,

And Your making the creature heir to dominion is a blessing,

although it never departed from You for a moment.

Though it has not departed from You for even a moment.

وما الملك للمخلوق إلا اضافة

وما الملك للمخلوق إلا اضافة

The creature’s dominion is nothing but an attribution,

And the creature's ownership is merely an attribution,

figurative within the everlasting grasp.

Figurative, within the eternal grasp.

وملك وملك المالكين مصيه

وملك وملك المالكين مصيه

إليك وهم لم يملكوا قدر نملة

إليك وهم لم يملكوا قدر نملة

Dominion—and the dominion of all possessors—has its destination

And the dominion and property of owners return

in You, though they never possessed so much as an ant’s measure.

To You, though they never owned even an ant's worth.

فلم يبق للدعوى بوجه تعلق

فلم يبق للدعوى بوجه تعلق

بملكك خابت كل دعوى وضلت

بملكك خابت كل دعوى وضلت

Thus no claim retains any basis whatsoever

So no claim retains any hold whatsoever

upon Your dominion; every claim has failed and gone astray.

فيا وارث أورثني العلم والصفا

وحلية أهل العلم أهل الحقيقة

وحلية أهل العلم أهل الحقيقة

O Inheritor, cause me to inherit knowledge and purity,

So, O Inheritor, let me inherit knowledge and purity,

and the adornment of the people of knowledge, the people of truth.
