ضمير بصير الحال سامع دعوتي
My God, Watcher over my deeds, Knower of the
O God, watcher of my deeds
inmost heart, Seer of my state, Hearer of my prayer.
Knowing conscience, hearing my prayer
الهيmy God منto ستريmy concealment قريبnear وحيثماand wherever
الهي من ستري قريب وحيثما
اضطراريmy distress مجيبresponsive شاهدwitness لكنينتيto my inmost self

My God, close to what I conceal, and wherever
O God, my concealer, close
I am in distress, You answer, witness to my inmost self.
Answering wherever I'm compelled
الهيmy God علمتYou knew الشيءthe thing قبلbefore حدوثهits occurrence
الهي علمت الشيء قبل حدوثه
وشاهدتهand You beheld it منfrom قبلbefore كونthe existence of الحقيقةthe reality
وشاهدته من قبل كون الحقيقة
My God, You knew each thing before it came to be,
O God, you knew things before they occurred
and beheld it before its reality came into being.
And saw them before existence, the reality
الهيmy God إنindeed الأينspace موضعa place for مختفone in hiding
الهي إن الأين موضع مختف
ولاand no أينplace يطويconceals عنكfrom You مثقالthe weight of ذرةan atom
ولا أين يطوي عنك مثقال ذرة
My God, space is indeed a hiding place,
O God, location is a hidden place
yet no place conceals from You an atom's weight.
No location can conceal an atom's worth from you
الهيmy God ظرفthe container of الأينspace أنتYou وراءهbeyond it
الهي ظرف الأين أنت وراءه
محيطencompassing وظرفand the container of الكرةthe sphere الزمنيةtemporal

My God, You are beyond the confines of space,
O God, circumstance of location, you are beyond it
encompassing them and the confines of the sphere of time.

رقيب على الدنيا وما قبل قبلها
رقيبwatcher علىover الأخرىthe hereafter إلىunto الأبديةeternity

Watcher over this world and what preceded what came before it,
Watcher over the world and before its before
Watcher over the hereafter unto eternity.
Watcher over the next world to eternity
رقيبwatchful حفيظpreserving دائمunceasing in الرعيcare عالمknowing
رقيب حفيظ دائم الرعي عالم
وقائعthe events of تفصيليmy particulars إلهيmy God وجملتيand my entirety

Watchful, preserving, ever caring, knowing
Constant guardian, knowing details
the events of my life, my God, in detail and as a whole.
My divine overseer of events and my whole
الهيmy God أقمنيestablish me ياO رقيبWatcher مراقباًmindful
الهي أقمني يا رقيب مراقباً
بفعليin my action وتركيand my abstention قدرةthe power of الشاهديةwitnessing
بفعلي وتركي قدرة الشاهدية
My God, make me, O Watcher, mindful,
O God, make me, O watcher, a watcher
in my deeds and abstentions, of the power of Your witnessing,
Through my deeds and omissions of power of witnessing
فلاso not أقتضيI seek فعلاًan action وتركاًand abstention بغيرwithout أنthat
فلا أقتضي فعلاً وتركاً بغير أن
أحققI ascertain أنيthat I تحتunder علمknowledge وقدرةand power
أحقق أني تحت علم وقدرة
so I seek neither action nor abstention without
So I require no deed or omission without
realizing that I am under Your knowledge and power.
Realizing I'm under knowledge and power
وكنand be ليfor me حفيظاًa guardian ياO رقيبWatcher وعاصماًand a protector
وكن لي حفيظاً يا رقيب وعاصماً
لنفسيfor my soul منfrom آفاتهاits afflictions البشريةhuman
لنفسي من آفاتها البشرية
And be my guardian, O Watcher, and a protector
And be my preserver, O watcher, and protector
of my soul against its human frailties.
