ولولاك لم ترشد ولم تتثبت

ولولاك لم ترشد ولم تتثبت

My God, the Rightly Guiding One, the Giver of reason;

and without You, reason would neither find guidance nor stand firm.

الهي تدبيرات ذاتك سقتها

بلا مرشد للغاية الأرشدية

بلا مرشد للغاية الأرشدية

My God, You have directed the designs of Your essence,

without a guide, toward the goal of supreme right guidance.

الهي ما في قدس فعلك ذرة

الهي ما في قدس فعلك ذرة

تعود إلى البطلان والعبثية

تعود إلى البطلان والعبثية

My God, not a single mote in the sanctity of Your action

amounts to futility or purposelessness.

الهي بالارشاد اسعدت من تشا

الهي بالارشاد اسعدت من تشا

وأشقيت بالابعاد وفق المشيئة

وأشقيت بالابعاد وفق المشيئة

My God, through guidance You have made happy whomever You will,

and through estrangement You have brought misery, in accordance with Your will.

الهي ما دبرت أمرك ساهياً

الهي ما دبرت أمرك ساهياً

ولا لهو في تقدير أية ذرة

ولا لهو في تقدير أية ذرة

My God, You did not order Your affairs heedlessly,

nor is there frivolity in the ordaining of any mote.

تعاليت في ذات وفي صفة وفي

تعاليت في ذات وفي صفة وفي

كمالك والأفعال عن ذي نقيصة

كمالك والأفعال عن ذي نقيصة

You are exalted in essence, in attribute, and in

Your perfection and deeds, above anything bearing a flaw.

لما فيه اسعادي ومحو شقاوتي

لما فيه اسعادي ومحو شقاوتي

My God, guide me aright by Your guidance, and lead me

to what brings me happiness and erases my misery.

الهي أرشدني لحبك أنه

الهي أرشدني لحبك أنه

برشدك للأحباب نيل المحبة

برشدك للأحباب نيل المحبة

My God, guide me to love You, for it is

by Your guidance that the beloved attain love.

الهي أرشدني لكشف حقيقتي

الهي أرشدني لكشف حقيقتي

فمعرفتي باللّه كشف حقيقتي

فمعرفتي باللّه كشف حقيقتي

My God, guide me to unveil my true nature,

for my knowledge of God is the unveiling of my true nature.

الهي أرشدني المراشد كلها

الهي أرشدني المراشد كلها

لأمر معادي أو لأمر معيشتي

لأمر معادي أو لأمر معيشتي

My God, guide me along all the paths of right guidance,

for the affairs of my hereafter or the affairs of my livelihood.

الهي من ترشده يرشد ومن غوى

الهي من ترشده يرشد ومن غوى

ففي علملك اللهم سر الغواية

ففي علملك اللهم سر الغواية

My God, whoever You guide finds guidance; and whoever goes astray—

then in Your knowledge, O God, lies the secret of straying.
