الهي مميت الحيِّ مستأثرُ البقا

عدوك حز الحق منه بشفرة

عدوك حز الحق منه بشفرة

My God, O Slayer of the living, sole Possessor of everlastingness,

My God, Giver of death to the living, sole possessor of eternity,

With a blade, wrest what is right from Your enemy.

Your enemy—exact justice from him with a blade.

أمته مميت الحي مفني خلقه

أمته مميت الحي مفني خلقه

بدامية تغتاله ذات مرة

بدامية تغتاله ذات مرة

Put him to death, O Slayer of the living, Annihilator of His creation,

Kill him, O Giver of death to the living, Annihilator of His creation,

with a blood-drawing blade that takes him unawares, once.

with a mighty, bloody blow that slays him unawares.

أمته مميت الحي بالذل موبقاً

أمته مميت الحي بالذل موبقاً

فقد عاشت الهلاك منه بغصة

فقد عاشت الهلاك منه بغصة

Put him to death, O Slayer of the living, ruinously abased;

Kill him, O Giver of death to the living, bringing him to ruin in humiliation,

for she has lived through destruction at his hands, in choking anguish.

for the wretched have lived in choking grief because of him.

أمته مميت الحي وافلل حدوده

أمته مميت الحي وافلل حدوده

فليس على حد له جزء قوة

فليس على حد له جزء قوة

Put him to death, O Slayer of the living, and blunt his blades,

Kill him, O Giver of death to the living, and blunt his edges,

so that no edge of his retains the least strength.

for no edge of his holds even a shred of strength.

وخذ لحدود اللّه منه بثارها

وخذ لحدود اللّه منه بثارها

فكم ضامها إذ عز حامي الحقيقة

فكم ضامها إذ عز حامي الحقيقة

And exact from him vengeance for the bounds ordained by God—

And avenge God's ordinances upon him,

how often he violated them when the champion of truth was scarce!

for how often he has wronged them when truth's defender was scarce.

ودمدم على أنصاره واصطلمهمو

ودمدم على أنصاره واصطلمهمو

بما اصطلموه من حقوق الشريعة

بما اصطلموه من حقوق الشريعة

Crush his supporters and extirpate them

And wreak destruction upon his supporters and annihilate them,

for the rights of the Sacred Law that they extirpated.

for the rights of sacred law they have eradicated.

أمتهم مميت الحي بالخسف والوبا

أمتهم مميت الحي بالخسف والوبا

وبالطعن والطاعون أشنع موتة

وبالطعن والطاعون أشنع موتة

Put them to death, O Slayer of the living, by earth-swallowing and epidemic,

Kill them, O Giver of death to the living, by the earth swallowing them and by pestilence,

by stabbing and plague—the most hideous death.

and by spear-thrusts and plague—the most hideous death.

أمتهم وأهلك نسلهم وبلادهم

أمتهم وأهلك نسلهم وبلادهم

فما لك في أمثالهم من بقية

فما لك في أمثالهم من بقية

Put them to death, and destroy their offspring and their lands,

Kill them, and destroy their offspring and their lands,

so no remnant of their like is left for You.

for there is nothing among their like for You to spare.

أمتهم مميت الحي واحصد جموعهم

بأخذ العذاب الهون في حين غفلة

بأخذ العذاب الهون في حين غفلة

Put them to death, O Slayer of the living, and reap their hosts

Kill them, O Giver of death to the living, and reap their multitudes,

as degrading punishment seizes them in a moment of heedlessness.

with the grip of humiliating torment, in a moment of heedlessness.

أمتهم ببث الشر في ذات بينهم

أمتهم ببث الشر في ذات بينهم

ودائرة تطويهم مدلهمة

ودائرة تطويهم مدلهمة

Put them to death by sowing evil in their relations with one another,

Kill them by spreading evil in their relations with one another,

and by a dark calamity that closes around them and sweeps them away.

and by a pitch-dark calamity that enfolds them.

أمتهم بخبل اللّه تعقر عقرهم

أمتهم بخبل اللّه تعقر عقرهم

وكل كمي ناصر اللّه بهمة

وكل كمي ناصر اللّه بهمة

Put them to death with God-sent derangement that cripples them at their very root,

Kill them with God's scourge, laying waste to their heartland,

while every valiant champion of God is a dauntless hero.

and with every armored warrior who champions God with resolve.
