My God, no being other than You came to be except

through Your subduing power, O All-Subduer, and Your compelling might.

My God, You subdued contingent beings, so all of them

lie helpless, needy, and abased beneath Your subduing power.

So nothing in the cosmos, whether still or moving,

can shield itself from my Lord’s subduing power by any defense.

    You broke the backs of the aggressors for their tyranny;

so no might could repel Your overwhelming force.

My God, the majesty of Your subduing power, in its very essence,

transcends all depictions of subduing power and all speculation.

My God, the majesty of Your subduing power is not feeble,

even if the All-Subduer grants respite for a while as a stratagem.

My God, factions have tyrannized over Your servants,

and their torrents of oppression have spread everywhere and overflowed.

Vile tyrants, they laid waste whatever they overran; and there is no

helper but the All-Subduer, who is above creation.

And what end awaits the subdued one in his tyranny

but the All-Subduer’s crushing blow upon creation?

My God, overtake them by subduing their very selves,

and their equipment, their numbers, and their reinforcements.

My God, overtake those too who favored them and helped them,

and flattered them unjustly to gain their ends.
