Sol 6.1

  1. الهِيَ عرضي لافتقاري وفاقتي

    إلى رحمة المغني الكريم ذريعتي

    My God, my laying bare my poverty and need

    is my means to the mercy of the Generous Enricher.

  2. بعينك يا مغني الفقير ضراعتي

    وفقري واعدامي وقلة حيلتي

    You see, O Enricher of the poor, my humble pleading,

    and my poverty, my destitution, and my scant means.

  3. بفضلك يا مغني الفقير فتحت لي

    دعاءك فاتح لي كنوز الاجابة

    By Your grace, O Enricher of the poor, You opened to me

    prayer to You; so grant me the treasures of response.

  4. الهي جعلت الكائنات فقيرة

    إليك ضعافاً في عقال المشيئة

    My God, You have made all beings in need

    of You, weak, bound by the tether of Your will.

  5. فمن لي باغنائي سواك وكل ما

    سواك فقير لا يقوم بخلتي

    Who, then, can enrich me but You? And everything

    besides You is poor and cannot meet my need.

  6. وشدة ضري في قضائك دعوة

    ولو لم تقم بالقول مولاي دعوتي

    And the severity of my distress is, by Your decree, a prayer,

    even if my prayer, my Lord, is not spoken.

  7. الهي قديم البر والذكر منك لي

    وتربيتي في كل طور بنعمة

    My God, Your longstanding kindness and remembrance of me,

    and Your nurturing me with blessing at every stage,

  8. وتيسيرك الأسباب لي من وجوهها

    واغناؤك اللهم لي فوق منيتي

    and Your making the means available to me through their avenues,

    and Your enriching me, O God, beyond my wish—

  9. وهذا امتنان منك لم أحتسب له

    بامنية تعدوك رب ونية

    all this is a favor from You I had not reckoned on

    through any wish or intention looking beyond You, Lord.

  10. وأنت الذي تغني وتقني بمنة

    على غير ما استحقاق عبد لذرة

    And You are the One who enriches and grants possessions by grace,

    without any servant deserving so much as a speck.

  11. جنانيك يا مغني ابسط العز والغنى

    بفضلك لي لا تبتذلني لفطرة

    [Mercy,] O Enricher! Extend honor and wealth

    to me by Your grace; do not abase me [final phrase unclear].
