حكيم لممدودين منك بحكمة

My God, by what You revealed of the secret of Your Name, the—

My God, by what You have revealed of the mystery of Your name, the

Wise, to those sustained by You through wisdom;

Wise, to those endowed by You with wisdom;

وما اغترفوا من بحر أسرار اسمك ال

وما اغترفوا من بحر أسرار اسمك ال

حكيم من العرفان والحكمية

حكيم من العرفان والحكمية

and by what they drew from the sea of the secrets of Your Name, the—

And by what they have drawn from the sea of the mysteries of Your name, the

Wise, of gnosis and wisdom;

Wise, of spiritual knowledge and wisdom;

بما أوقف الابداع من صنع اسمك ال

بما أوقف الابداع من صنع اسمك ال

حكيم على غاياته الأبدعية

حكيم على غاياته الأبدعية

by how the workmanship of Your Name, the—

By what has brought creation, through the working of Your name, the

Wise, brought creative origination to its utmost creative bounds;

Wise, to its creative ends;

بما أفرغ الآثار من قوة له

بما أفرغ الآثار من قوة له

على قالب الاتقان من أي ذرة

على قالب الاتقان من أي ذرة

by how He cast the effects from a power belonging to Him,

By what has cast, from its power, the effects

upon the mold of perfection, down to every last atom;

Of any atom into perfection’s mold;

بقدسك في الأفعال من فعل باطل

بقدسك في الأفعال من فعل باطل

لك الملك ما للعبد ذرة شركة

لك الملك ما للعبد ذرة شركة

by Your holiness in all acts, free of every futile act;

By Your transcendence in action, free of any futile deed;

Sovereignty is Yours; the servant has not an atom’s share in it;

Yours is dominion; the servant has not an atom’s share.

بأنك لم يعرفك غيرك سيدي

بأنك لم يعرفك غيرك سيدي

فأنت الحكيم الحق في العالمية

فأنت الحكيم الحق في العالمية

by the truth that none but You has known You, my Master;

By the fact that none but You has known You, my Lord;

for You are the true Wise One throughout all existence;

For You are the true Wise One throughout the universe;

بأنك أثرت البدائع مطلقاً

بأنك أثرت البدائع مطلقاً

على أحسن التدبير للأصلحية

على أحسن التدبير للأصلحية

by the truth that You brought forth the wondrous creations in absolute freedom,

By Your bringing forth marvels without restriction,

according to the finest ordering, for what is most fitting;

According to the finest ordering for the greatest good;

بأنك قدرت الصنائع فانجلى

بأنك قدرت الصنائع فانجلى

عليها دليل الحكمة الأزلية

عليها دليل الحكمة الأزلية

by the truth that You measured out the crafted things, and there shone

By Your ordaining the works of creation, so that there appeared

upon them the proof of pre-eternal wisdom;

Upon them the evidence of eternal wisdom;

بتكوينك الأشياء رب جميلة

بتكوينك الأشياء رب جميلة

شموس جمال الحق فيها تجلت

شموس جمال الحق فيها تجلت

by Your forming of things—many a beautiful thing,

By Your creating things, O Lord, in beauty—

wherein suns of the True One’s beauty revealed themselves;

The suns of the Real’s beauty have manifested themselves within them;

بقدسك في التكوين عن سببية

بقدسك في التكوين عن سببية

بقدسك في التكوين عن غرضية

بقدسك في التكوين عن غرضية

by Your transcendence, in creation, above causality;

By Your transcendence in creation beyond causality;

by Your transcendence, in creation, above purposiveness:

By Your transcendence in creation beyond purposive motives;

بحكمتك افتح لي من الخير حكمة

بحكمتك افتح لي من الخير حكمة

فإن قرار الخير حيث استقرت

فإن قرار الخير حيث استقرت

through Your wisdom, open for me a wisdom drawn from goodness,

By Your wisdom, open to me wisdom from goodness,

for goodness finds its resting place wherever that wisdom settles.

For goodness abides wherever wisdom has settled.
