My God, Abaser of the unbelievers for their unbelief,

With Your knowledge of the deed of unbelief from eternity.

My God, Abaser of the rebellious, even if they run on

For a time, they have not escaped to safety.

    The dominion of subjugation and might surrounds them;

So they remain abased, even if they glory in delusion.

My God, nothing has abased a soul so much as

Its self-exaltation, claiming a share of rank and might.

And how can the soul rise above its station?

And where it thought it had attained honor, it was abased.

My God, Your adversary has overstepped the limit and transgressed

Against God's sanctities through superior force.

    وغيرتك اللهم أعظم غيرة

    And Your knowledge of the enemies, my Lord, holds sway;

And Your jealous zeal, O God, is the greatest zeal.

And the tyrant's might, though its vigor intensifies,

Will end in nothing but disgrace and abasement.

So send upon him, O Abaser, the shattering blasts of

Retribution, and clothe him in garments of a curse.

And pour abasement upon him, in heart and body,

And in his prestige, wealth, and following—

Calamities of abasement that batter his life

And crush him as dry, crumbled hay is crushed.
