فتلهج يا اللّه في القصد مخلصاً

فتلهج يا اللّه في القصد مخلصاً

بسر اسمك الذاتيّ قدريَ جللا

بسر اسمك الذاتيّ قدريَ جللا

So repeat “O God,” with sincere intent.

With sincerity, I implore You, O God

Through the mystery of Your essential Name, exalt my rank.

By the mystery of Your Essential Name, Majestic

أنلني يا رحمن أوسع رحمة

أنلني يا رحمن أوسع رحمة

فقد جل خطبي يا رحيم واعضلا

فقد جل خطبي يا رحيم واعضلا

Grant me, O All-Merciful, the most expansive mercy,

Bestow upon me, O Beneficent, abundant mercy

for my plight has grown grave, O Merciful One, and intractable.

For my affairs have become dire, O Merciful

ويا رب أصلح لي عبوديتي أكن

ويا رب أصلح لي عبوديتي أكن

مطيعاً خضوعاً خاشعاً متبتلا

مطيعاً خضوعاً خاشعاً متبتلا

And, O Lord, set right my servitude, that I may be

And O Lord, make my servitude righteous

obedient, utterly submissive, humble, wholly devoted.

Obedient, humble, reverent and tested

ويا مالكي ملكني النفس والهوى

ويا مالكي ملكني النفس والهوى

فلا ينزلا بي من معاصيك منزلا

فلا ينزلا بي من معاصيك منزلا

And, O my Master, give me mastery over the self and desire,

And O My Master, make me master my soul and passion

so they do not bring me to any abode of disobedience to You.

So no acts of disobedience descent upon me

ويا حي يا قيوم أحي سريرتي

ويا حي يا قيوم أحي سريرتي

فاشهد قيومية العلم والولا

فاشهد قيومية العلم والولا

And, O Living One, O Self-Subsisting Sustainer, revive my innermost self,

And O Ever-Living, O Self-Subsisting, enliven my conscience

that I may witness the sustaining power of knowledge and devotion.

So I may witness the eternal knowledge and intimacy

تول أموري يا ولي مسدداً

تول أموري يا ولي مسدداً

لها نحو ما ترضاه لي ومكملا

لها نحو ما ترضاه لي ومكملا

Take charge of my affairs, O Guardian, guiding

Take charge of my affairs, O Guardian,

them toward what pleases You for me, and perfecting them.

Guiding them toward what You wish and perfect for me

ويا حق ثبتني على الحق واهدني

ويا حق ثبتني على الحق واهدني

ونور يقيني واكشف البطل مجملا

ونور يقيني واكشف البطل مجملا

And, O Truth, keep me steadfast in truth and guide me,

And O Truth, make me steadfast upon the Truth and guide me

and illumine my certainty and expose falsehood in its entirety.

And enlighten my conviction and uncover the misguided

ويا ذا الجلال ارفع مقامي واكسني

ويا ذا الجلال ارفع مقامي واكسني

باكرامك العزين والنور والعلى

باكرامك العزين والنور والعلى

And, O Lord of Majesty, raise my station and clothe me

And O Lord of Majesty, raise my spiritual station

through Your generosity, in twofold honor, light, and loftiness.

With Your precious honor, light and sublimity

ويا أول اجعلني إلى الخير سابقاً

ويا أول اجعلني إلى الخير سابقاً

وكن لي لمرقى السابقين موصلا

وكن لي لمرقى السابقين موصلا

And, O First, make me a forerunner in goodness,

And O First cause, make me preceded to good

and be my guide to the heights of the forerunners.

And be for me the means to the preceded ones

وذاتيَ يا قدوس قدس بوارد

وذاتيَ يا قدوس قدس بوارد

And sanctify my being, O Most Holy, with an influx

And My Essence, O Most Holy, sanctify my secrets

flowing in succession from the Most High, Glorious Source.

With a stream from the Most Exalted, Glorious Source

واعل إلى أعلى المراقي بمعرج ال

واعل إلى أعلى المراقي بمعرج ال

حقيقة قدري يا عليَّ ووصلا

حقيقة قدري يا عليَّ ووصلا

And raise—to the highest stations, by the stairway of the

And ascend me, with an unwavering ascension

Reality—my rank, O Most High, and grant union.

To the highest spiritual station, O Most High, and join me

وعظم مقامي يا عظيم معززاً

وعظم مقامي يا عظيم معززاً

فحسبي جلالاً أن تكون المجللا

فحسبي جلالاً أن تكون المجللا

And magnify my station, O Magnificent, bestowing honor;

And elevate my station, O All-Great, honored

for it is glory enough for me that You are the bestower of glory.

For my pride is that You are the Majestic

ويا فاطر اجعل فطرتي أبداً على

ويا فاطر اجعل فطرتي أبداً على

سبيلك واعصمني فلن أتحولا

سبيلك واعصمني فلن أتحولا

And, O Originator, keep my innate nature forever upon

And O Originator, make my nature ever

Your path, and safeguard me, so I shall never turn away.

Upon Your path, and protect me, so I shall not waver
