وأنتand You الذيthe One who أحسبتYou have amply provided for كلall الخليقةcreation
وأنت الذي أحسبت كل الخليقة
And who, O Sufficer of all beings, is there for my want,
And who, O Sufficer of all worlds, will meet my need,
when You are the One who has sufficed all creation?
when You are the One who has amply provided for all creation?

Enough for me—sufficiency, O Sufficer, and freedom from need—
Enough for me, O Sufficer, are contentment and freedom from want
through Your sufficing me, O God, most generous of sufficiencies.
through Your sufficing, O God—the most generous sufficing!

What soul, Lord, have You not encompassed
For what soul, Lord, have You not woven
with Your goodness and beneficence at every moment?
with Your kindness and beneficence at every moment?

And what soul, O Sufficer, have You ever forsaken,
And what soul, O Sufficer, have You neglected,
so that it fled to a sufficer besides You and hastened to him?
that it fled to a provider other than You and journeyed away?

Exalted are You: no being besides You brings forth
Exalted are You! No being but You brings forth
the provisions of those whom You have truly brought into being.
the provisions of those You have brought into being, in truth.

Who, then, is there for me, when helplessness engulfs me and my need
Who, then, will help me, with my helplessness complete and my need

before Your eyes? Who can suffice to ward off my need?

Far from it—no indeed! This servant has no sufficiency
Far from it! No—this servant has none who suffices him
other than You, nor anyone to hope in for a grave task.
but You, nor anyone to hope in for a pressing need.

My God, I pour out all my anguish and sorrow
My God, I bring all my anguish and sorrow

to You; so be one who casts away my complaint.

Never have I known my hopes, whenever they turned
Never have I known rejection when my hopes turned
to You, O Sufficer, to be sent back disappointed.
to You, O Sufficer, nor have they met with disappointment.

بشيء فاحسب يا حسيب بغنيتي
Nor have I ever known, my Master, that one could dispense with You
Nor have I known sufficiency apart from You, my Master,
through anything; so suffice me, O Sufficer, as all my wealth.
in anything; so suffice me, O Sufficer, by freeing me from want.
