نجني يا خلاق من كل كرب
ليسis not تشقيcauses hardship عليكupon You لهجةthe utterance مثليone like me
ليس تشقي عليك لهجة مثلي
Deliver me, O Creator, from every affliction.
Deliver me, O Creator, from every distress.
The plea of one like me is no burden to You.
The utterance of one like me brings You no hardship.
وأتحand grant ليto me نجاةdeliverance ذيthe possessor of النونthe fish وحياswiftly
وأتح لي نجاة ذي النون وحيا
ياO قريبNear One الدانيthe one drawing close بغيرwithout محلa place
يا قريب الداني بغير محل
And grant me Jonah’s deliverance, swiftly,
And swiftly grant me the deliverance of Dhu al-Nun, the man of the fish.
O You who are near to whoever draws near, yet occupy no place.
O Near One, drawing close without occupying a place.
واستجبand answer ياO مجيبAnswerer دعوةthe prayer مظلوwronged (continued)
واستجب يا مجيب دعوة مظلو
مcompletes 'wronged' غريبa stranger مستضعفoppressed مستذلhumiliated
م غريب مستضعف مستذل
And answer, O Answerer, the prayer of one oppress—
And answer, O Answerer, the prayer of a wronged
—ed, a stranger, rendered powerless and abased.
stranger, oppressed and humiliated.
صادقtrue to الوعدthe promise هذهthese دعواتيmy prayers
صادق الوعد هذه دعواتي
أنجزfulfill الوعدthe promise وابتدرنيand hasten to me بكفلwith a share
