    has always depended on the nobility of learning.

    No bird has risen on a wing of ignorance

    toward perfection; yet how often has it fluttered through knowledge!

    I urge souls on with the sung melody of my insight

    toward perfection, when fidelity's chanting guide sings.

    to turn souls from wrongdoing toward purity.

    وقفت لترقية الفضيلةِ موقفا

    My reason has finished grappling with events;

    I have taken a stand to advance virtue.

    it would be mere affectation if directed to anything but knowledge.

    Do minds perceive that their plantings

    will not be harvested except through wholesome knowledge?

    refinement standing aloft on the high ground of glory.

    حِزباً بجامعة العلى متصرفا

    So let your souls live by the spirit of their perfection,

    as a band active in the fellowship of greatness.

    حرية الأفكار ربعٌ ما عفى

    And let your thoughts awaken for their flourishing;

    freedom of thought is an abode never effaced.

    ما كل رأي في الحوادث يُقتفى

    Indeed, the imitator is helpless in the face of events;

    not every judgment on events is to be followed.

    the shoulders of the free men of virtue and fidelity.

    And reform the ways of souls with that by which

    they grow pure, and do not leave perfection deferred,

    until glory rises among you, declaring:

    People—all people—are brethren of purity.
